Alas, that doesn't seem very useful to me, since I haven't yet seen any
Linux software that can do that.
I use a One4All URC-8810 that I got for $20. I trained it to mimic the
keyboard using its built-in learning feature.

It's too bad you don't have access to a JP1 cable and a Windows machine.
I would love to get a dump of the IR codes. I haven't had any luck
getting my 8810 to learn from the same keyboard and the folks at
hifi-remote.com are baffled by keyboard.
