And this is the *real* danger of these DRM schemes: when they make it impossible to implement a compatible system that doesn't even want to access protected content. Imagine what happens to independent filmmakers and musicians when they can no longer burn discs that play in everyone's player, or produce music files that play on a general purpose computer that's been crippled by legislation only to play protected content.
