Additional data point … tv_grab_na_dd seems to download and generate the data file okay with the –download-only option. It’s not until after it reads the data file and tries to generate the xml output (even with –output file args) that is causes the PC to shut off.
Is there another process that can generate the expected XML output from the datadirect downloaded datafile?

I seem to now be having two (separate?) problems when running mythfilldatabase. For now I’ve had to disable running it automatically as it makes the entire system unstable.
1. The original problem I had, which I still have is that running that process causes my computer to completely shut off. (not hang, not dump, OFF) 2. After downloading some data from datadirect, mythfilldatabase get Db Error 127s now trying to insert the results.

Further fooling around has shown me that running the tv_grab_na_dd process is the culprit for causing my PC to shut off. I ran it with the –ndays=2 setting thinking that would be a small dataset. Piping output to a log through the convential means just gets me a copy of the XML that was downloaded, not stdout as I was hoping for. It prints a few status lines as it’s working, gets to the Writing Schedule print, and after a few seconds my screen turns off. (It may or may not have printed one more line after that as it happens so fast I can’t tell.)
Doing a tell on log file (rather log) shows me that it did not, in fact, finish writing the XML file, as it was in mid “Category” and did not finish the rest of the XML.
Perhaps someone could point me to where the source is located for it so I could try to figure out exactly what it’s doing?

So I imagine that maybe one or more tables have been corrupted. If that’s the case, can anyone point me to where I can research how to do a repair? Or at least which script contains which tables? I’m not opposed to dropping the broken tables and recreating them. I’d prefer not to completely scratch the entire database, as I have other stuff like movies and such I don’t want to manually reenter. But I guess, if I have to, I have to.
Permissions seem okay, I’m able to connect and get in with the proper mythtv credentials in mysql
I’m running KnoppMyth (mostly standard auto-install), though I did apt-get install xmltv ( I think – I’ve done so many installs before getting it right that I lost count.)
Thanks,. MikeE |
