I know that this is the case for me -- I have my Nvidia 5200FX
connecected via a DVI to HDMI cable to a Panasonic AE700U projector,
which has a native resolution of 720p. But the projector won't return
the timing info for EDID - so I set IgnoreEDID in xorg.conf, and
specified the Horizontal, Vertical, and DotClock settings provided in
the projector manual, along with a modeline that worked in Windows
with Powerstrip.

But XWindows _still_ won't work at 720p across the DVI port! (Even
though the exact same configuration _will_ work in XWindows across the
VGA port.)

I would still prefer to be able to connect via DVI/HDMI -- has anyone
else had this trouble? Does anyone have any suggestions?

(I'm away from my MythTV box right now, but I can post my xorg.conf
this evening if anyone thinks they might be able to help...)

Thanks,
