Check around for threads on 'remote id'. Think of it as a specific channel that you can set your receiver/remote to communicate on in case of interference. My 3100 (DP301 in the US) needed to be set to remote id '9'. I don't know why, but it works.
That's right, you should also look in the comments of the particular lircrc file you're using ("less" the file.) If the channel of the lircrc file doesn't match what your receiver is set to, it won't work.
