I've just added a 2nd tuner and sound card in my machine. It's all functional, but I have a couple of problems.
1) The new card is a C-Media Electronics Inc CM8738 sold as Audio Excel brand. In alsamixer it doesn't have a Capture device and it seems that the recording level is controlled by the Line device. Trouble is, I can't get this card to record the sound at the same volume as the on-board Intel - the new card is MUCH quieter. Am I stuck with this or are there some tricks I can try to get it to record louder? 2) I thought I could solve this by setting the recording level of the old card lower and pumping up the PCM output so it plays back at a decent volume. I then run "alsactl store 0" and "alsactl store 1" and this works until mythtv starts recording a program when it seems to set the levels back down to where they were before. How can I stop myth resetting the playback volume? Regards, Phill
