Err. I need help in this. I'm trying to get digital spdif in mythmusic, I tried ALSA 1.0.8, had problems installing it and reverted back to 1.0.7.
ATM, I still can't seem to get MP3 playing just rite in spdif, I tried the .asourcrc file shown in DigitalSoundHowTo in mythtv.info, it still doesn't sound right, I tried changing all values of 48000 to 44100, the pitch sounds better but still ain't quite right.
There seems to be timing/beat and pitch issues.
Tried looking at docs on how to configure .asoundrc but cannot comprehend anything.
After trying for so long, I think xmms and mythmusic now always played at the wrong pitch (am I getting crazy?). Actually now I don't know which sounds are correct and which sounds are wrong anymore. I thought I got it working a few days ago (by creating the .asoundrc), but the pitch problem crept back.
I am using audio on board a Asus P4P800, it is using the intel8x0 sound module. OS is Mandrake 10.1 official with ALSA 1.0.7 and kernel 2.6.10. I am using latest CVS for Myth and all its plugins.
I don't recall having this problem a few months ago when I am still using 10.0 (Community Edition) with 0.16+ version of Myth.
Would it help if I use a SB Audigy instead of onboard sound?
