All very good points.  Especially if you want to run linux.
BTW, are you running Red Flag linux?

No, I'm saying that is a huge benefit, not the only one.  That 
and it runs on linux.

You can.  Just edit the theme and remove what you don't 
want.  You need some knowledge of html, but it certainly isn't 
hard.  I modified one of the themes to run on a frontend 
in the playroom of my house so that my daughters could 
only access the video menu and some specific web sites.
Took me a few days to figure it out, but that simple change 
coupled with the video playlist feature in the upcoming .17, 
will make it an unbeatable combination IMHO.  Now if I 
could just figure out how to squeeze what I need into a 
carputer running only a frontend with wireless file 
sync, I'd be a happy person!

Then you can just put the default theme back in and 
fire up the backend, add in the card and you'll be 
all set!
