That's too much overkill.  It's expensive, usually has a fan.  Truth is
that even an MX440 is fine for the job of playing video.  Many use an
FX5500 which can be had under $50 in the USA.   Get the higher end card
only if you plan to play a lot of 3D videogames.

Ah.  Well, I had to give up on expressvu when they shut down California,
but in theory with BEV you can just get a DVB card with a smart card
slot!  No external receiver at all.   These cards cost about $120 -- 
cheaper than either your pvr-250 or you satellite receiver, and
hugely, vastly superior if you can get it to work.  I see comments
in the code about BEV so I presume some folks are doing it.

And of course, with a DVB card, your recording takes no CPU, and is
perfect quality and size.   If BEV hadn't shut off half their
channels to the west coast of the USA, I would be going this route
for sure.
