does Gentoo fit into this category? my understanding what that you pick and choose what you want, download and build from source. you do then have a package manager system that allows you to easily update the stuff you have installed as well as add functionality in the future. so you get a 'from scratch' system but ease of future maintainability... or am i missing something? i don't 'yet' use Gentoo. but that's kind of how i understood it to work. ----------------------------------------------------- a 'whole lotta' GMail Invites available Please Email me OFF-list only...
