I have compiled 16.1 of Myth on Fedora Core 2. I currently have a TwinHan DVB
card installed. MySQL is installed and running and I have performed the steps in
section 6 of the documentation regarding MySql. I originally had an
error because
qt-sql was not installed. I quickly took care of that problem using
yum. However when I run setup
I get

mythtv setup]$ ./setup
Unable to connect to database!
Driver error was [1/2005]:
QMYSQL3: Unable to connect
Database error was:
' (1)wn MySQL Server Host 'localhost

Unable to open database:
Driver error was:
QMYSQL3: Unable to connect
Database error was:
' (1)wn MySQL Server Host 'localhost

I shut down the MySql server and tried again to see if the connection
was being rejected. Exact same
error. If I run ./setup as root I get

Session management error: Authentication Rejected, reason : None of
the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based
authentication failed
Unable to connect to database!

Usually I don't use lists like this. I usually find solutions using
the net and reading but this one has be stumped.
I can't find anything about it with Google. Any help or insight,
(hell even random guesses!!) would be appreciated. If you
need more information please don't hesitate to ask.
Cheers,

SuperSlug
