Wish i could help you, i've done nothing special to get mythtv to look
like that. Any theme i load does it automatically.

I'm running 0.16. I'm sure I use the gant theme. I'm at work so I
pulled a screen shot off the web that showed the overlay I was
talking about, it's not my personal setup. In my use, it appears over
live TV translucent, just like the picture, and while it's nifty to
look at, it makes the guide hard to read at times, which is why I
wanted to wanted to know if there was a way to make the guide pop up
as in the original's poster's picture.

I"ve tried every theme that comes stock with the cvs and i can't get
the guide to do what you do. Plus i don't understand how you can be
using GANT since Gant is like a shades of grey. What version of
myth you running? And i would go into setup appearance and check
your theme. But like i said every theme i've tested (6) doesn't
look like yours but like the others posted, video in top right (well
except sleek which puts it in bottom right).

Mine appears like this when I hit 'M'

Although I'm using the Gant theme not Visor.
I'm not saying I'm missing anything and EPG works like a charm,
just wondering if it was a function of the particular theme I'm
using (haven't messed with any others).

The guide I get while watching Live TV is an overlay on the TV show

You don't need any special themes, I don't think. They should all
support this. I'm also not sure what your's is doing that you
think is
wrong. If you're watching The News on Live TV and press "M", then the
EPG as per Neil's picture will come up with The News displayed in the
top right corner. You can change the channel being displayed there
but
I can't remember what key you press - probably just Channel Up/Down.
You do have EPG data on your box don't you? What happes when you view
it from Manage Recordings --> Schedule --> Guide?

Phill
