I had planned to swap over NFS, but you have a good
point and that may be a bad plan when the network
traffic is high transfering video from backend to
frontend.  What about a loopback device which is a
simply file on the xBox FAT partition?

I may play some games on my xBox in the future, so I
decided to go with Cromwell on a SmartXXv2 to keep my
options open.

If this does work well then the potential for reducing
front end administration effort is going to be great.
