Create a different video source, even though it will have the same channels. Modify the callsigns for the channels on the new source so they don't match the other source. For example if channel 3 on source 1 is chanid 1003, KVBC, make 2003, KVBC-D. Then choose a Channel or Single record rule on KVBC-D for the shows you want to record on the Air2PC card.
Sounds like a pain, but yeah, that'll work. :)
Sounds like a pain but I can't imagine it being any easier to do what you are asking...
For shows that I want to get off multiple channels, I need to add multiple rules then, right?
No, use All record. You must be thinking of one of those crappy commercial DVRs where their only recurring type is like myth's Channel and you would need multiple rules for the same show on more than one channel.
In this example, if I set a kAllRecord rule for "Fear Factor"
it could record it from KVBC or KVBC-D.
While input preference is in mind, you don't need to 'cranked way up so they will grab shows by default'. you only need to change it by 1 (one) to break the tie. 1 and 999 are the same in that sense but the more you add to the input preference, the more it will distort other priority decisions. I have two card with "1" and three others at "0" and it makes some amazingly bright decisions. If you have three levels of preference, 2,1,0 or 1,0,-1 is all that is needed to make the distinction.
Well, by 'way up', I meant 4. :) From someone else's post, I thought that the tuner preference was added to the channel preference or something like that to figure out which one to use?
I'm just going to keep posting this link this week but check out the
http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-11.html#ss11.6
section on "Priority". Input, channel, record type and the per show priority are all added together to arrive at the total priority for a given showing. For one input to be preferred over another, it only has to be not equal. Therefore, input preference could be 0.1 or 0.000001 and it would still work but we're working with integers so 1 gets the job done =).
