Hi, trying a few things, googled for everything, thought I'd ask here:
I'm trying to put some old videotapes onto Myth, so I figured I could just put in the tape, press play, hit "C" to change to SVideo, and hit "R" for record.
I get the OSD saying " Record "" " and then fading out. Odd. Not sure if it's recording.
I tried adding a channel in MythSetup, which I called VCR, gave it a callsign of VCR, and set the input to SVideo. It doesn't show up in my EPG, even after a MythBackend restart. My reasoning was that I thought I'd be able to go to the EPG, to channel VCR, hit "I" to schedule a recording now, with type "High Quality".
The goal:
How do I put in a tape, switch to VCR, and make a new recording, using the High Quality profile, which (even better) will allow me to play it back from MythVideo and even edit the title? At the moment, I'm not even sure I'm recording it in MythTV as I can't see it anywhere.
Alternately (and *far* more intuitively), is there no way for MythVideo to record from non-TV inputs? It would make sense that a video input shows up here, not in MythTV.
Anyone have any thoughts? I'm totally out of ideas.
