Anyone else?

Here's the error I have:
2005-02-12 14:22:42.596 Opening audio device 'spdif'.
ALSA lib control.c:654:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL /dev/mixer
2005-02-12 14:22:42.638 Mixer attach error -2: No such file or directory
Check Mixer Name in Setup: /dev/mixer

You have the 'use internal volume control' checked with an ALSA device. This wasn't supported in 0.16 (it just ignored the mixer for ALSA). Version 0.17 now supports using the internal volume control with ALSA, however you need to set the mixer to the string 'default' (without the quotes). This has been convered on this list a few times already.

<snip>

I don't get any error message at all from neither mythbackend nor mythfrontend.
The sound card I have outputs the audio directly to the S/PDIF output without going through a mixer device, this means that in 0.16 I could not mute nor increase or decrease the volume (which is fine with me since mixer devices usually adds extra noise anyway). The interesting part is that I don't even get a signal on the S/PDIF output in 0.17.

Any other suggestions?
I'm istarting to get frustrated over this issue :(
