This is what that actually seems to happen: When I start to watch a recording or live tv, mythtv sets the alpha to 0 on the framebuffer, then mythfrontend crash.
If I ssh in to the mythbox I can "dd if=/dev/video0 of=/dev/video16 bs=64k" and it will display TV. If i do "ivtvfbctl /dev/fb0 -globalalpha -nolocalalpha" I can see the X desktop where mythfrontend is gone, and I'm back at the xterm that I startet mythfrontend from: bash-2.05b$ mythfrontend 2005-02-13 11:24:19.893 mythfrontend version: 0.17.20050130-1 www.mythtv.org 2005-02-13 11:24:19.893 Enabled verbose msgs : important general 2005-02-13 11:24:19.946 Switching to square mode (Titivillus) 2005-02-13 11:24:20.262 Registering Internal as a media playback plugin. 2005-02-13 11:24:20.312 Joystick disabled. 2005-02-13 11:24:26.702 Connecting to backend server: 127.0.0.1:6543 (try 1 of 5) 2005-02-13 11:24:26.709 Using protocol version 14 2005-02-13 11:24:26.736 Using protocol version 14 2005-02-13 11:24:27.697 Opening audio device '/dev/dsp'. 2005-02-13 11:24:27.697 Opening OSS audio device '/dev/dsp'. 2005-02-13 11:24:27.700 Using resampler.
