As for the parental levels not being honored, all I can say is "works
for me". Nothing regarding the parental levels has changed
significantly since .16, indeed not much at all has changed in
MythVideo since .16. Make sure that you haven't set your default
parental level too high.
after extensive testing with parental levels in .17 I can tell you it
works fine in browser and gallery view but doesn't work in listview.
