Thus spake Tim Honl: > So what happens with non-HD signals through the firwire port?
They get sent through as well. > Does -everything- including the non-HD channels get piped out the firewire > port, or is that provider dependant? With my local cable company, I get all the content through the firewire port, and all of it is viewable. Some folks have reported that the 'digital' channels (>125) are encrypted for them, but I supposed I lucked out. I get a nice 720x480 stream on non-HD channels. Also, since I've got my DCT-6200 set to output 480p for SDTV, the stream I get comes out already deinterlaced. I haven't bothered to do any examiniation yet to determine if that export-time deinterlacing is better / worse / the same as doing it at transcoding time, but it seemed like a nice little bonus. -- Nathan Poznick <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Through our great good fortune, in our youth our hearts were touched with fire.
