FC1 to FC3 is a much different beast than FC2 to FC3. FC1 was a 2.4 kernel and 
XFree86, FC2 is a 2.6 kernel and Xorg, just like FC3. FC2 to 3 is quite a bit 
easier. However, I've done a successful FC1 to FC3 upgrade as well.
