First post; I hope the question isn't too dumb.

Since upgrading to 0.17 from 0.16 this past weekend,
I've been getting the following error messages every
time I start live TV or watch a recorded program:

2005-02-15 21:06:30.467 Opening audio device
'/dev/dsp'.
2005-02-15 21:06:30.468 Opening OSS audio device
'/dev/dsp'.
2005-02-15 21:06:30.709 Error opening audio device
(/dev/dsp), the error was: No such device
/dev/dsp: No such device

in addition to a visual popup on the screen giving me
the audio device error message. The last line is
generally repeated many times in the logs. Thing is,
I just hit "Continue without audio" and the audio
comes through on the TV just fine.

The box is a combined FE/BE, with a Hauppauge 350.
It's on an old Dell 566 Celery that has no sound card,
built-in or otherwise, save the audio out on the
Hauppauge. I've tried changing the audio device to
/dev/adsp, but with no luck. The base system is SuSE
9.2; when I was running 0.16 I installed it through
oeystein olsen's rpms, but 0.17 was compiled from
source after cleaning out the 0.16 stuff (except the
mythconverg database). I replaced my X11 with a
recompiled Xorg that can use the Hauppauge's
framebuffer as a primary display. I run both BE/FE as
the mythtv user, though I have the FE run as suid root
(not sure if this is still necessary). Just to
reiterate: the audio out from the WinTV card works
fine while watching TV or a recording; I just keep
getting these error message popups every time I try to
watch something.

When I was running 0.16, I installed it through
oeystein olsen's rpms.

Here's my lsmod of the running system:

So the question is: how to I get rid of the
popups/error messages, or how do I fix what's wrong
(if there is something wrong)? BTW I didn't seem to
have this problem while running 0.16.

Thanks, and my regards and thanks to Isaac and all the
Myth developers - truly a fantastic piece of work.
