Thanks for the prompt response, I have found the command to open up mythconverg to a range of IP addresses... The important issue I have is... What happens to the combo machine (has the backend and frontend on it)? Will I set up the frontend part to look for the IP address instead of the loopback address? Will the local frontend be able to find the local backend?
I guess I willl find out soon enough when I try it but a clearer picture is always better. There's a command you run on the backend side to "open up" mythconverg database to any frontends you wish to allow. There's documentation on the mythtv site and Jarod's site. Then do a regular install on the frontend and don't start up the backend. When you start up the front end, make sure you put in the ip address of the backend. If you have any videos, make sure they are set up in the exact same location as are on your backend or when you scan that area for videos, it will wipe out all your IMDB lookups.
