I don't really know that case, but the VFD looks like the one in my D.Vine5 case (with a cable going out and connecting to the parallelport ?) In such case, you don't have to worry about it not lighting up, mine lit up as soon as I had started LCDd, setting it up to use Driver=HD44780 and Device=/dev/lp0 -- Mvh. Nezar Nielsen http://fez.dk
