I've got a Canopus DAC-100 that converts analog to AVI
and sends it over fireware. Its great for capturing
video for later processing and conversion.
The latest MythTV 0.17 supports firewire, but it looks
like
MPEG only format from a particular type of source.
I don't see any way currently to use the AVI coming in
over firewire for MythTV. Is that correct?
Does it make sense to add a raw AVI firewire input
format
to MythTV? I'm new to MythTV and I've searched far and
wide on this subject and have come across some
postings that allude to
this not being feasible, but I'm not sure why.
BTW, I'm getting my TV signal via DISH Network.
