One thing you should check is that the setting in BIOS for the
parellel port is correct.  I can't remember off the top of my head,
but it has to be set to a correct setting... I can't remember if it's
EEP or ECP, but try whatever it isn't.  That should solve the problem.
 Then, please post how you succesfully did it so I can see if I can
replicate :)
