> Any suggestions would be appreciated. Peter, I 'failed' many times at learning linux at first mainly because I wanted to but was not motivated to. What finally turned me was needing a solid, stable file server (windows just didn't cut it). Learning linux was a lot of work for me, but it's been fun and take less than a year to become a pretty savy user/admin. I agree with the other posters, get a box and devote it to linux, beit a file server, desktop machine, or future myth box.
I'll also add, if you are really interested in learning everything there is to know about linux, play with one of the major distros (fedora, mandrake, etc) for a while and then try out gentoo. You'll learn more about linux setting up that machine that just about anyway else. My $0.02USD. -- Travis
