hi,

I had the some problem with /dev/video.
It looks like mythbackend is started to soon...
This is what i did to avoid this:

1)Do not start backend as a service during boot
  #/sbin/chkconfig mythbackend off
2)add this lines to /etc/rc.local
  depmod -a
  modprobe ivtv
  sleep 4
  service mythbackend start
