I had the same problem when I upgraded to FC3 and then
reinstalled using Jarod's guide. I needed to add the
following line to /etc/modprobe.conf and reboot.
alias msp3400 msp3400-ivtv
Obviously it didn't fix any previously made
recordings, but all subsequent recordings were fine.
