If i'm not mistaken, you should just be able to install the mysql4 client.. I know when it was from 3.x to 4.x the same issues were happening with stuff compiled against 3.x or built directly for 3.x.
Ofcourse, you should be able to download the sources and compile myth yourself and if 5.x client & mysql-devl is installed it should work. (haven't tried 5 myself.. not worth it) On Sat, 19 Feb 2005 11:24:23 -0500, Lou Picciano <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Myth Friends: > > The subject line will give you a sense of where this is going; we have a > working environment under SuSE 9.2 (which installs MySQL v4 by default). > However, all of our 'real' work is in MySQL 5, so we'd like to experiment > with having MythTV talk to a remote master running MySQL 5. > > Please note that simply installing the v5 MySQL client results, as expected, > in the famous QTMYSQL error 'client does not support authentication method'; > this is consistent with a MySQL client-server version mismatch.
