I've considered the same question a few times. Like the case where you
watch a show and get part way through it before you decide you really
like it or want to show it to your wife and then you can't go back and
add the buffered video to a recording that you would create. It is
kind of frustrating that the data you want exists, but there is no way
to get it in the recording.

This would be a great feature to add. Maybe a begin recording from
buffered option on live TV recording.
