Well, yeah, there was the dpms issue when watching a DVD. I've tried
turning off the screensaver in KDE, but that didn't fix it. I guess I
need to go deeper, and disable it in X or the BIOS.
While watching TV, the screen would blank after 5-10 seconds, and then
just hang for maybe 30 seconds. Then it would drop me out to the menu.
This was driving me nutz for quite some time, until I restarted the
backend. Now it works fine.
So, I guess I'll have to play with the startup order, as it seems that
mythbackend is starting up before something that is needed is running.
