If your XBox is that loud, your xbox has serious issues. I have 3 of them and NONE are that loud. If your booting you may hear the dvdrom churning, but otherwise they're quiet..
If you have modded your xbox you can replace the noisy HD.. once you do that your about as quiet as any pc can get.
