Here is my problem. I just installed .17, I was using knoppmyth but I switched because I wanted more options. I am running a pvr-250 off of Jarods Guide. I get through everything and I goto reboot (after I configured automatic startup) and it boots up with a box asking me for my root PW to start 'backend &'. That is annoying but not really my problem. Ivtv also doesn't really seem to be working 100% for me. When I first boot up ivtv doesn't seem to be loaded. I 'll /dev/video?' and it doesn't come back with anything. I have to depmod and modprobe ivtv every time I reboot. That sucks. I know I didn't have to do that before (I used to run .14). Any help you guys can offer would be great.
I was stuck on this too... turns out I just had to read the guide a little more/a little closer. Look under "Running X on the PVR-350's TV-Out" for "The final touch is to rebuild your system's initial ram disk to include the drivers for the 350's output".
