Actually, I don't think they will go away. After the 12 days of data is gone the EPG will say "unknown" for those channels. At least that's what happened to mine.
What I did is install Webmin, for all of those linux newbies and non-experts like me . . . Webmin is your friend. www.webmin.com Webmin has a mysql manager (among many other management utils) that will allow you to browse the DB and delete entries you don't want. The channel info is listed under mythconverg > channels(i think, I'm not at my machine), click "view data" find the channels you want to get rid of, click the check box on the right, then click "delete selected rows". Voila!
