You mean some people watch sports live? I can't stand sports live. You have to watch it with a moderate delay, not just for the commercials, but for all the boring breaks in play, the pitching changes -- hell, I even turn on triple-speed for the long slow fly-balls into the outfield! As for news, you watch live? Well, if it's breaking news like planes flying into buildings, sure, but otherwise news is meant to be recorded so you can skip the boring stories. Does it bug you to be watching 20 minutes delayed? Anyway, to each his own of course. On sports, one feature on my wishlist is that the system just automatically add an hour of soft-padding to any sporting event if the tuner doesn't have anything else to do, and there is spare disk space. Though to be really clever it needs to understand it can reclaim some of this disk space by truncating the padding hour out of the file. In fact in general, I would say that the unit should pad "forever" on any recording that is being watched while it is being recorded. By forever, I mean until the user terminates watching, though you need some limit, and in particular if you are short of disk space you need a tighter one. The problem in Myth right now is you can't really tell the difference between quitting out of watching in order to browse some other myth items and quitting because you are done with the show. You might have to put up a menu in a dangerous situation saying "You're watching this show delayed-live. Keep padding or terminate recording normally?"
