I've got ffmpeg installed but it still says everything's disabled. I
installed it from ffmpeg-0.4.9-0.20041110.3.1.fc3.rf.i386.rpm - how do
I get it to support the codecs I want to export to? I know I can use
--transcode but I gather that runs a lot slower and it doesn't support
DivX. I"m new to nuvexport so please put me straight if I'm wrong on
this.

fun ffmpeg with no options, it'll print out its help and configure instructions. The one I'm using from atrpms (fc3) lists:

--build=i686-redhat-linux-gnu --host=i686-redhat-linux-gnu --target=i386-redhat-linux-gnu --program-prefix= --prefix=/usr --exec-prefix=/usr --bindir=/usr/bin --sbindir=/usr/sbin --sysconfdir=/etc --datadir=/usr/share --includedir=/usr/include --libdir=/usr/lib --libexecdir=/usr/libexec --localstatedir=/var --sharedstatedir=/usr/com --mandir=/usr/share/man --infodir=/usr/share/info --enable-mp3lame --enable-vorbis --enable-faadbin --disable-faac --enable-xvid --enable-a52bin --disable-dts --enable-pp --enable-shared-pp --enable-shared --disable-amr_nb --disable-amr_nb-fixed --disable-amr_wb --disable-sunmlib --enable-pthreads --enable-dc1394 --enable-gpl --disable-strip --extra-cflags=-O2 -g -pipe -m32 -march=i386 -mtune=pentium4 make

Have you actually tried to run any of the disabled options? They'll tell you exactly what you're missing.
