I personallly chose the 6600GT because this MythTV box is also a pseudo gaming machine. MAME being the big one, but I'm also going to get Doom 3 setup and configured for use with my PS2 controllers (already working under MAME) so that any friends who come over can get fragged on the big screen. :)
