Uhhh. No, not really. There is no encoding with ATSC. Playback and delayed playback/live viewing are almost identical. Short-Delayed playback may involve a bit more disk I/O. Near-live watching actually may involve _less_ disk I/O because you are playing from the disk buffer cache in RAM. So why do you view them as so different?
