Had the same problem, you need to mute the input and get the capture set
up to record. Read the section in the documentation on audio setup and
troubleshooting.

I have a WinTV card with the BT878 chipset in it. Sound and vidoe both work
great when watching TV on KDETV however, when I watch TV in MythTV, I can
hear the audio in sync with the video but there is also about a 3 sec delay
of what I just heard. Kinda like an "echo" of the past. This effect also
happens when I record. The other weird thing is that the audio continues to
play even when I exit MythTV.
