Hello All.

I upgraded my FC1 box to FC3 over the weekend and now X11 hangs 5-10 minutes into watching recorded shows. I can ssh into the box and kill the X11 server (99% cpu, needs a kill -9 to actually die), but that makes for a rather discontinuous viewing experience.

Hardware:
 ASUS A7V8X-MX SE mobo
   VIA KM400 chipset
 AMD Athlon XP 2k+
 nVidia GeForce4 MX 440
 512M ram
 2x Hauppauge PVR-250s
 2x Samsung 160GB drives

Software:
 FC3 w/ latest atRPMs:
  kernel ver 2.6.10-1.766_FC3
  ivtv ver 0.2.0-65_rc3g.rhfc3.at
  nvidia-graphics6629
  X.org ver 6.8.1
  MythTV CVS from 1/1/05

When X hangs I get a single line cryptic message in /var/log/message from the nvidia driver. Some examples:

NVRM: Xid: 6, PE0000 007c 7f807e7f 0000fbb4 7f807e7f 7f7f7f7f
NVRM: Xid: 1, Channel 00000000 Method 00000000 Data 80808080

NVRM: Xid: 1, Channel 00000000 Method 00000000 Data 817d7e81

I've tried the other nvidia driver versions available at atrpms (specifically, 6106 and 6111), but I can't get them to load into the kernel:

Mar 1 21:13:43 mythtv kernel: nvidia: Unknown symbol __VMALLOC_RESERVE
Mar 1 21:13:43 mythtv kernel: nvidia: Unknown symbol pci_find_class

From the log files, it looks like I'm using agpgart. I haven't tried to force it to use nvidia's agp driver because the README doesn't list my chipset.

Does anyone have any ideas what I might try to fix this? With this upgrade, recording seems stable for the first time since November. But that doesn't do me any good if I can't watch!
