Now I've done it.
I had a lockup while watching a recording, and the only way to recover is to power off and back on. Problem is when I did that, it seems like the SQL database is pooched.
What happens why you try running the mysql command from the command prompt? Can you access the mythconverg database then?
If mysql works, but the mythconverg database is corrupt, you may need to drop it and re-import it from your backup as described here:
