The binary version should run fine for a 32 bit Xorg as well. I am not sure what version of ivtv you are using but assuming it is recent version then the ivtvdev_drv.o is bundled with the ivtv releases (on ivtv.no-ip.info). The latest (fastest) ones are not available for download individually at the moment. If you still dont get anywhere email me the Xorg.0.log file.
