The FCC's rulings and requirements mean nothing here in Canada, which
can be both fortunate (broadcast flag) and unfortunate (firewire on
cable boxes).  While the 3250HD does have firewire ports, they are
firmware-disabled by Rogers, and I doubt that will change anytime soon
unless the CRTC forces them to.  Given the CRTC's past and present
record regarding the change to HD, I wouldn't hold my breath.

I'm tempted to dump Rogers completely and move to a completely free
system (via broadcast NTSC and ATSC channels).
