BTW, even if there was a CLI and whatever, the mythbackend still uses QT as a general purpose library. QT-4.0 will have their general purpose classes and GUI classes broken out into seperate components, so conceivable, the backend would not require QT+X, only the utility classes within QT. The backend setup program would still require QT+X. The split would be similar to the GTK/GLIB split.
Also, I have no sympathy for someone who runs gentoo, and then complains about things taking too long to install/maintain.
