Hi- I've googled some and not really found the answer. Although, this seems like something that should have been asked before, I'm not finding it. So, I'm open to advice- or a pointer to a source of guidance....
My current system: SuSE 9.2, Myth 0.17 FE/BE on a Pundit-R, celeron 2.6 and using the PVR-350 tv-out. Recently upgraded to 30" LCD TV that will do 1280x768. HD ready with component, composite, s-video and DVI inputs. Currently not a subscriber/user of HD. Just got a PVR-500 delivered today, so that will eventually be making it's way into the box... All mpeg2 hardware endoding... The setup works great, but I'm wondering if I'd see any improvement by going to DVI for output? I've seen a couple of posts that Xv will work OK with the onboard ATI 9100 IGP. Or should I keep on with the PVR-350 tv-out? Not messing with overscan, etc and being able to surf the internet from the living room floor with wireless mouse/keyboard would be nice, but not worth a hit in tv performance, as mythtv is the primary use of the box. But a significant increase in processor use=increase heat=increase fan noise, and I like the current volume of the system... Or maybe I just do the experiment myself and report back? It seems that someone probably already knows that one is better than the other- and I'm not finding it.... Thanks, Mike
