Yes, there is. However, since the PVR-350 is basically a "dumb framebuffer" in this case, you'll need a beefier CPU.
I've done it before, but it was long ago (since I like to use MythGame, I've given up on the PVR-350, and use an nVidia FX5200 instead). If I recall correctly, you need to use the Xshm (X Shared Memory) output plugin, as there is/was no Xv support. On my machine at the time (an Athlon XP 2400+, which is about 2.0GHz), Xine was complaining about dropped frames, but the movie seemed to play back okay. You may want to check out the ivtv mailing list, I thought I saw some posts about a new driver for Xine that there's some people working on, which would take advantage of the MPEG-2 acceleration. -- Joe --- Derek Conniffe <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I'm guessing the answer is "no" but.... > > Is there any way to play a DVD when using a PVR350 > as the output card - like > some way to decrypt/transcode on-the-fly? > > Thanks, > > Derek > > --- > Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. > Checked by AVG anti-virus system > (http://www.grisoft.com). > Version: 6.0.809 / Virus Database: 551 - Release > Date: 09/12/2004 > > > > _______________________________________________ > mythtv-users mailing list > [email protected] > http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users > __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
