Mark,

thanks for the quick response!

1. Good point, I'll look into AGP/PCIe - could be useful for future
expansion too.

2. HD isn't available in the UK (where I am) so I'm not worrying about
it yet. Maybe later!

3. Thanks, I'll read more. Are you saying I should add a sound card to
get this? The motherboard I had in mind had basic sound support on it,
so I was going to leave a dedicated sound card for future expansion...

4. I specced a single 512MB stick, but forget to add it to my list -
would that be enough? The guides I read suggested anything over 256
wasn't worth it, so I figured it was OK.

Thanks again,

Mark

All sounds OK.

if you have onboard spdif then there's no need for another soundcard (IMO)

I'd also caution that there are issues using the PVR350 for output (I have one)
It doesn't do the fancy goom display on Mythmusic, you can't play games, watching DVDs etc with xine is tricky.
It may be worth considering one of the nvidia cards ('cos the devs use them and the new drivers with vertical sync are supposed to give good pictures)

Worth checking out the wiki - www.mythtv.info - some useful tidbits and uk contacts on there.
