Hi all, I was looking for an inexpensive card that also had S-Video input. I found a Kworld card VS-L883D, which has S-Video input. It's only about $30.
I searched the list and found only 1 thread on this card from about 1 year ago. The thread states that linux support for the x88 chipset is still in alpha. Has any of this changed? Anyone have experience using this card? Another question is, if I don't have a card with hardware encoding, will mythtv basically be a dog when recording? I imagine that encoding high quality video takes up a lot of the CPU. The docs mention rtjpeg, does that work well with cards that don't have hardware encoding?
