Ugh... Read the archives more carefully.

Support for the PVR150 is still only in the IVTV3.X.X drivers, which
isn't considered stable, but is progressing quickly.  The PVR250
driver is considered stable.

The PVR150/250/350/500 and the PCHDTV card have mpeg encoders on them,
therefore the card does the work and not the CPU.  So your AMD 3800 is
WAY overkill for a dedicated backend.

2GB of memory is way overkill for Myth.  Many people use just 256mb. 
512mb is adequate.

To decode HD TV (ie, your frontend), I beleive that Jarod has stated
that w/ tweaking his AMD XP1800 is almost enough power but not quite.
Typically I see people recommending an AMD XP2600 or greater. A P4 w/
HT is also usually recommened for HD.
