I use gnome, but not on the myth session. I just use a very minimal setup for myth:
http://jeff.jeffornot.com/start_myth.sh for my use flags: USE="gnome2 gtk2 gtk apache2 php perl acpi apm avi esd gnome \ gtkhtml jpeg libwww mpeg mysql opengl perl png samba ssl \ tiff truetype usb X gl pda berkdb sdk dvd sse 3dnow maildir pam -arts \ offensive -qt lirc mythtv network nvidia real v4l v4l2 xvid vhosts mjpeg \ aac threads mythdebug" you can probably ignore most of those. mythdebug is a flag I added myself for use in the hacked-up cvs ebuild I have. So don't bother putting that one in there. Not sure how many of the other flags are needed for myth, but I remember recently adding mjpeg aac and threads to get nuvexport to work. This should show you all the possible use flags for any given package: [EMAIL PROTECTED] etc]$ emerge -ptv mythtv These are the packages that I would merge, in reverse order: Calculating dependencies ...done! [ebuild N ] media-tv/mythtv-0.16 +X +alsa -arts -cle266 -debug -directfb -dvb -lcd +lirc -mmx +nls +nvidia +opengl +oss +xv 13,181 kB Total size of downloads: 13,181 kB On Thu, 24 Mar 2005 11:26:03 -0800, Richard J.
